Challenger

The Polish
BC: Revlon - ColorStay Base Coat
Color: Different Dimension - Challenger, three coats
TC: Seche Vite

A multichrome today, so apologies in advance for many pictures.

Challenger, which is from a set all named for spacecraft!, is a green/gold-to-red/purple-to-brown multichrome with holo glitter and glass flecks. How's that for a description?

I can't quite decide if I like it or not. It's not really a color I would normally pick up, but it IS pretty.. The red/purple isn't very apparent in most lights. Most of the time it just appears to be a glittery dark brown.

But maybe it looks a little messy? We'll keep it on for a while and see what I think.

Hey~! I finally got the green to show in the car! You can see some glass flecks in this one, too.

Wear: Removed on Day 2 with the decision... to purge. Honestly, I probably would have preferred it without the glitter, just as a multichrome creme. *shrug* Hopefully someone else will like it.

Boris & Nicole

The Polish:
BC: CND - Stickey
Color: Julep - Boris & Nicole, two coats
TC: Seche Vite

Well, this color was a surprise! Not really a good one, but definitely a surprise, nevertheless. In the bottle, Boris & Nicole looks like a shimmery brown. I'm not really one for those sorts of colors, but a friend pushed it into my hands, telling me that it's the PERFECT fall color and that I HAD to have it. Well, alright then..!

So imagine my shock when the first coat applied incredibly RED. Not just reddish, like Cosmic Fates, but completely, undeniably RED. At two coats, the color deepened, and the gold shimmer added to the depth nicely.. but it's still super red...

Inside, sometimes it looks like that red-leaning brown shimmer I expected, but then I move under the light again and remember that nope, it's actually red.

Wear: Some tipwear on Day 3, chips and slight lifting on Day 4

Cosmic Fates

The Polish:
BC: CND - Stickey
Color: Color Club - Cosmic Fates, two coats
TC: Seche Vite

Hey, check it out. I actually found a Halo Hue I don't like.

I mean, it's fine. It's a good formula, strong holo, like the other Halo Hues, and applies well. But the color.. It's a coppery-rosey-redish-pink thing that I just can't get behind. I mean, it's a fine color.. I just really don't do warm colors, myself, I think.

That's okay--I have a friend that does. And Cosmic Fates is so awesome that it deserves a good home.

Wear: Five days, though very slight lifting started at the end of day four.

Catch Me in Satin Sheets

The Polish:
Duri - Rejuvicote as base
Revlon - Satin Sheets (Sweet Nothings collection)
The Lady Varnishes - Catch Me Dancing (I'm Not Finished collection)

Mid-week I was looking for something super sheer, so I decided on Satin Sheets, which is basically nothing but a faint red shimmer. With one coat, it's just barely noticeable, as you can see. Simple and perfect for what I needed at the time.

And then on Friday, I got my latest nail mail, Catch Me Dancing, delicate glass flecks in a milky white base. I couldn't help but put it on right away, without even taking Satin Sheets off. You can still see the red shimmer shining through.

The Lady Varnishes lets her customers choose a scent for her polishes, and she has quite a wide range, too. I chose a jasmine scent to be mixed in with Catch Me Dancing, but it smells more... grape? Meh, oh well, it's still so pretty! Like a white version of Illamasqua's Raindrops. <3 Maybe one day I'll be able to capture how lovely it is in my pictures. *sigh*

Grey-T to Be Here

Essence Grey-T to Be Here
One of two Essences that I own, the first that I've tried! At $2 each, these could be addicting if I frequented Ulta more... Please ignore my cuticles today! I've somehow lost my cuticle cream. ;-;
Grey-T is a soft grey with red shimmer that gives it a nice purple tint. The above picture is less color accurate, but shows the shimmer better.
Application was nice and smooth. First coat was just a little sheer, but two coats seemed like a fine opacity for me. Excited for more of these little guys!
